This guide will help you navigate the Tupelo location, understand what to look for, and make a purchase you'll love for years.
What to Expect at the Ashley Furniture Store in Tupelo
The Ashley Furniture store in Tupelo is located on North Gloster Street, near the Mall at Barnes Crossing. It's a spacious showroom with multiple room displays, making it easy to visualize furniture in your own home. You'll find everything from sofas and sectionals to bedroom sets, mattresses, and home accents. The store also carries the Ashley Sleep line of mattresses. Plan to spend at least an hour browsing—there's a lot to see.
How to Find the Best Deals at Ashley Furniture Tupelo
Ashley frequently runs promotions, but the best deals often happen during holiday weekends (Memorial Day, Labor Day, Black Friday). Sign up for their email list to get advance notice of sales. Also, check the clearance section near the back of the store—floor models and discontinued items can be marked down 30–50%. Don't hesitate to ask a sales associate about unadvertised specials or price matching. If you're flexible on color or fabric, you can often save by choosing a less popular option.
Key Factors to Consider Before Buying Furniture
Before you swipe your card, evaluate these key factors:
- Size and Scale: Measure your room and doorways. Ashley furniture tends to run large, so check dimensions carefully.
- Construction: Look for solid wood frames (kiln-dried) and dovetailed drawers. Avoid particleboard in high-use pieces like sofas.
- Upholstery: For sofas, consider fabric performance. Ashley offers stain-resistant fabrics in many lines. Test the cushion support—medium firmness is best for daily use.
- Warranty: Ashley includes a limited warranty, but understand what it covers (usually frame and springs) and what it doesn't (fabric wear, stains).
Common Mistakes Shoppers Make at Ashley Furniture
Many buyers rush and end up with regrets. Avoid these pitfalls:
- Skipping the Return Policy: Ashley's return window is typically 30 days, but custom orders may not be returnable. Always ask before buying.
- Ignoring Fabric Swatches: Colors on your screen may differ. Request a physical swatch to see the true shade and texture.
- Not Testing Comfort: Sit on sofas and lie on mattresses for at least 5 minutes. What looks good may not feel good.
- Forgetting Assembly Cost: Delivery often includes basic setup, but if you need assembly (e.g., for wall units), ask about the fee.
Real Tips for a Successful Furniture Shopping Experience
Start by browsing online to narrow your choices, then visit the store to test the pieces you like. Bring room measurements and a list of your must-haves. Talk to the sales staff—they know the inventory and can suggest alternatives if something is out of stock. If you're on a budget, ask about financing options (Ashley offers 12-month deferred interest plans). Finally, read the fine print on delivery dates: some items ship in 1–2 weeks, but others can take 6–8 weeks. Plan accordingly.
