What to Expect at the Ashley Furniture Store in Nanuet NY
The Nanuet Ashley HomeStore is located at 4001 Palisades Center Drive, inside the Palisades Center mall. It's a two-level showroom with separate sections for living room, bedroom, dining, and home office furniture. The store is well-organized, with each section displaying multiple styles from modern to traditional. Staff are generally helpful but can be busy on weekends. Pro tip: visit on a weekday morning for a quieter experience and more attentive service. The store also has a clearance section on the lower level where you can find floor models and discontinued items at up to 40% off.
How to Choose the Right Furniture: Key Parameters
Before you buy, consider these factors: Size – measure your room and doorways. Ashley offers many pieces that come in standard sizes, but always check dimensions. Material – look for fabric content (polyester blends are durable, while leather adds cost). For sofas, check the frame construction: kiln-dried hardwood frames last longer. Comfort – sit on the furniture for at least 10 minutes. Ashley's cushions vary from firm to plush. Warranty – most items come with a limited warranty (usually 1 year on fabric, 5 years on frames). Ask for details before purchase.
Common Mistakes to Avoid When Shopping at Ashley Furniture Nanuet
Mistake #1: Not checking the return policy. Ashley has a 30-day return policy, but there is a 15% restocking fee. Make sure you are certain about your choice. Mistake #2: Ignoring delivery fees. Delivery in Nanuet typically costs $79-$129, depending on the order size and if you need assembly. Ask about free delivery promotions. Mistake #3: Buying without comparing prices. Check online prices at Ashley's website or other retailers like Wayfair. Sometimes the store can match or beat online prices. Mistake #4: Not inspecting floor models. Floor models may have flaws, so ask for a discount if you buy one. Mistake #5: Skipping the clearance section. Many great deals are hidden there, but you need to check carefully for damage.
Step-by-Step Shopping Process for a Hassle-Free Experience
Follow these steps: Step 1: Measure your space and doorways. Write down dimensions. Step 2: Browse online first to narrow down styles and check prices. Step 5: Ask about discounts – floor models, clearance, open-box items. Step 6: Inquire about delivery timelines (usually 1-3 weeks for in-stock items). Step 7: Review the contract carefully before signing. Step 8: Schedule delivery and be home to inspect items upon arrival.
